Walthew Receives Alvin Anderson Award

In 2011, the Washington State Association for Justice awarded The Walthew Law Firm its prestigious Alvin Anderson Award. The annual award recognizes an individual or firm in Washington state that exhibits extraordinary energy, effort, and commitment to enabling WSAJ to promote and preserve the civil justice system.

The Walthew Law Firm took the lead in an effort to defeat the Washington Workers Comp Insurance Reform Initiative also known as Initiative 1082. The initiative was on the ballot in November 2010. If the initiative had passed, it would have allowed employers to purchase industrial insurance from private companies, deregulated the current workers’ compensation system, reduced injured workers benefits, and been a considerable burden for small businesses.

As stated in the March 2011 Trial News, “The attorneys at the Walthew Law Firm are dedicated to clients who suffered injuries and those who are being denied the workers compensation benefits they deserve. They took an early and decisive lead in working to put together the effort and resources necessary to defeat Initiative 1082 at the ballot box last November, and to continue the fight for injured workers in the legislature this year.”

The Walthew Law Firm proudly accepted the 2011 Alvin Anderson Award, as we are proud to fight to protect injured workers rights.

The Washington State Association for Justice website features a list of previous and current Alvin Anderson Award winners.
